Wild Pali Wind

Bob Nolan
Original copyright: Undetermined

Hawaiian cliffs overlooking the ocean.

In the wild wind of the Pali,
There’s a sigh of lovers’ parting.
He whispers, “Aloha.”
Just the sweetest word he can say.
As it echoes through the island
From the cliff top to the valley,
The high wind of the Pali
Carries his “Aloha” away.

With flowers she decked him
And asked the spirit to direct him.
Her love will protect him
Upon that strange new shore.
She’ll be waiting for his love call
In the wild wind of the Pali.
It won’t be “Aloha”
When he comes to leave her no more.
